QuicKcals is a private, personal-use application. It is not distributed publicly and is used only by its own account holders.
Food and exercise entries (text, photos, estimated calories), body stats you choose to enter (weight, height, age, activity level), weigh-in history, and, if you connect a WHOOP account, daily calorie burn data from WHOOP's API.
All data is stored in a private database on the app's own hosting infrastructure. Your diary is not sold, and it is never given to an advertiser. Nothing you log — no food, photo, weight or figure — is used to target advertising, on this app or anywhere else.
Photos and text may be sent to Anthropic's API to estimate calorie content. Food names you search for may be sent to food databases (Open Food Facts, Nutritionix, USDA) to look up published nutrition figures. If a WHOOP account is connected, calorie burn data is retrieved from WHOOP's API using OAuth authorization you explicitly grant, and can be revoked at any time from WHOOP's own account settings or by disconnecting within this app.
Paid subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages and never reach this app — it stores only Stripe's identifier for your subscription and whether it is active.
Free accounts see advertising supplied by Google AdSense, which is what pays for the free tier. Google sets cookies and may use your IP address and browsing activity to choose which ads to show, as described in Google's own policy for partner sites. Where the law requires it, Google's consent notice appears before any of that happens, and your choice there governs it.
What is not shared is your diary. The app sends Google nothing about you: not what you ate, not your weight, not your account. The only thing that reaches the advertising script is the fact that a page was opened.
On a paid plan no advertising script is loaded at all. It is not hidden — it is never fetched, so nothing is set and nothing is measured.
If you share an invite link, the person opening it is shown your username so they can see who invited them. Nothing else about your account is disclosed, and a code that isn't recognised discloses nothing at all.
An account created from an invite records who invited it, so the reward can be paid when the first payment is made. That record is not used for anything else.
Account holders can delete individual entries at any time within the app. For full account or data deletion requests, contact the app owner directly.
